Cisco IP phone is not responding to my TFTP server(software)
Reply
Hi there.Dominik is my name. I bought a cisco 7960 series IP phone that i want to use for making VOiP calls. I was told that i need to change the operating system in that phone from CISCO CALL MANAGER to SIP with the newest version that is the P0S3-08-2-00(sip v.8.2)one. I've done everything as i should copied files to the root directory in that program server, restarted the phone, started the software but no communication to the port of which is assigned to the cisco phone. I tried CISCO support but the don't know what is wrong, and to get a special support i need to pay big amount for some wizz computer specialist to come and see it.

Please help!!!

Contact cisco or search on their website for solution about configuration of SIP for your phone.
Read step by step and do it. As some people told me RTFM (Read the Fxxx Manual). Cisco is very hard to set up but those are the BEST when configures properly.
TIP:
You need to get the TFTP server entry on your phone set before you will be bale to get it configured, at the moment it looks like it's empty.

The TFTP server setting is under the "Network Configuration" menu on your phone, you will need to choose option 9 "Unlock Config" before you can change it though.

I've also know that you normally need to set "Alternate TFTP" (option 32 in Network Configuration) to YES before you can edit the TFTP server setting.

Hope that helps
