Vista 64Bit Hanging/Freezes
Reply |
Hi there. I bought a computer last year about october. It's Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit 4GM Ram, intel core 2 duo 2.94 2.93 GHZ processor
And after 3 months of having it while playing a game, all of a sudden my whole screen went blank, and unresponsive, and said the signal was lost. I could hear the sound from my game looping like a skipping cd
So I thought ok since signal lost.. probably simple error once off and maybe my graphics card, Nvidia Geforce GT 220 1024 MB
So anyways, I had to hardboot it. Started the game again. 10 minutes later. Same thing. Over.. and over.. and over again. SO I searched google, did ram tests, system restores.. Checked for failing hardware (via programs as I do not want to void my warrenty/guarrentee)
Found nothing. So I played a different game to see if it was the game itself. All was fine for a while till the same thing happened yet again. So with that happening. I went and phoned the people I bought the computer in. I saw the problem as being my GPU, so I had it replaced. Got it back early december
So everything was pretty much fine till about 20 minutes ago.. It happened again, except one, I was not playing a game. Just IRC chat rooms/firefox and some music on windows media player and a folder or two open with a temperature program I started using ever since the first time I had this problem. However when the freeze happened, my music, looped again, but my picture stayed this time. I had gone to the bathroom and found it like this. So I had to hardboot..
Im really not happy and I cannot seem to find an actual answer. I've tried programs to see if it's my hard drive thats perhaps causing it. Nothing. I've checked event logs for my system and found NOTHING that would seem to be the cause of the problem. So please.. please help me. I dont have money to go get another computer and this is all I have now.
