I recently purchased the above laptop and would like to set it up. At moment when i turn it on all i receive is no Boot sector on internal hard drive, no bootable devices - strike F1 to retry boot, f2 for setup utility when i do this nothing happens. i would like to install some programs into the laptop HELP

Ana,

You have to install the system. If you have purchased this computer second hand you should of get a set of CD's or a DVD that says 'System Recovery Disk' or something similar to that.
Once you have found the CD insert the first CD and start / restart the computer. The computer will then boot up from the disk and install the system (windows XP).

I did buy the laptop second hand and did not receive the system discovery disk where do i purchase these from and roughly how much are they?

You have to call DELL and order the CD or DVD...
They charge about $100 +/-
