Hi Melanie,

Most likely when you shutdown your computer some program that is installed is not responding when windows is trying to shut it down, so windows is waiting for the program to respond or windows has crushed as well...

Because it is happening everyone and then, what you have to do is pay attention to what programs you use during the day that causes windows not to shutdown properly.
Onec you find out what program is causing the crush, either uninstall or reinstall the program.

Hi

Have a look for any error messages in the Event Viewer under Administration Tools

You have to research on the internet or the www.microsoft.com website about the error message and determine if it is a critical error or just a warning message...
Maybe in the event log you can find an error message about the windows not shutting down properly...
