I recently did a clean reinstall of this computer from a cd. I started the computer from scratch only to find there was no WAN available on the computer and there was no sound drivers either. I can only connect through ethernet cable. I dont know too much about computers but there is no WAN drivers available to detect my router and am unable to configure drivers. I know that the sound is not on mute but there seems to be no drivers available to play sound. Headphones or PC speakers do not work either. Additional Info...My windows has aparantley not been activated because i did not recieve a product key (onestly no i didn't) so i haven't got that either.Wether this disables drivers i dont know, or wether my clean install has removed them. Please help i am clueless.

Richard, When you reinstall your windows system, you have to download and install all your dirvers for your hardware. There are no WAN drivers. Your modem connects to the internet (WAN – Wide Area Network) thru the LAN (LAN – Local Area Network). So all you have to do is install the LAN drivers and make sure your modem is connected to the internet... Your sound card. If you cannot find any drivers for your sound card, you can purchase a sound card and disabled the onboard sound card... that will fix your problem for about $30 Also windows will not disable any drivers for your computer; you just have to install the proper driver for your hardware

Richard,

When you reinstall your windows system, you have to download and install all your dirvers for your hardware.
There are no WAN drivers. Your modem connects to the internet (WAN – Wide Area Network) thru the LAN (LAN – Local Area Network). So all you have to do is install the LAN drivers and make sure your modem is connected to the internet...
Your sound card. If you cannot find any drivers for your sound card, you can purchase a sound card and disabled the onboard sound card... that will fix your problem for about $30

Also windows will not disable any drivers for your computer; you just have to install the proper driver for your hardware

LAN yes thats what i ment.haha. Would i have to purchase these from a retailer aswell as a soundcard?

Yes, you can purchase a Network Card from a store if you cannot find drivers for your existing one...
