can someone tell me whats wrong

My pc recently fell about 20 cm onto the floor after falling off my computer desk.

After picking it back up, it wouldnt do anything well the the fans would start though
But it wouldnt beep or anything or load a screen
after a bit of cable moving it started to beep (beep told told me there was a video error)
After giving up for a few days i got it to stop beeping but again it did nothing to start up
I changed the power supply and it worked for a day

Then today it said windows cant load seclect safe mode etc
Anyway i got out the isntall cd in and it unexpectedly error'ed the 1st time.
Then something made a horrible grinding sound like someone was rubbing a rock over metal.
The second time onwards it ran it but froze when it said starting windows.
Since my computer has 2 hard drives in it,
I changed over to the one that didnt have windows on it.
My computer said it wasnt connected.
Then after a reboot the video died again.

my computer is a

Pentium D 2.6ghz
asus p5v800-mx
1gig of ddr 3200 400mhz
120 gig samsung
250 gig western digital
256MB Sapphire Radeon 9550 i think
windows xp pro sp2

Hi Thomas,

I would get a new HDD for the System.

Disconnect / remove everything from the computer (RAM, HDD’s, video..., except for the CPU) and clear the BIOS.
Power up the computer with noting in it (except for the CPU, you can live that in the computer)

After you did that insert the video card, one good memory stick and your new HDD. Check if the system is booting up and working, and then slowly add other components to your computer. (If after inserting a component you computer is unstable then remove and replace with a new one)

To reset the bios, best to follow your mother board instructions...

In general, remove the battery and change the clear bios pins from 1-2 to 2-3 for few seconds then change the pins back and insert the battery
