IBM Thinkpad - Disk drive works but DVDs no longer play

Hi there,

I have an IBM Thinkpad (laptop) that I have used until recently to watch DVDs.

However, all of a sudden and midway through a movie, the DVD stopped playing and since then no DVDs have worked. I thought it might be a problem with the disk drive but CDs have continued to work.

Does anyone know what the problem could be and how I might solve it?

Did you tray to read a DVD data disk?

Is it a DVD/DC burner?

I just tried a DVD data disk and that didn't work either.

The drive is a CD burner, DVD reader.
