POST - CRT Monitor

Bought a used/second hand Compaq Trinitron P700 CRT Flat screen monitor, plugged it in and the only thing that happens when i turn the computer and monitor on is a dialogue box comes up on the monitor and says as such: INFORMATION: Monitor is in power save mode. Activate using PC. I don't really want to spend any more money to solve this problem: please help!

Sound like you don't get a video signal from your computer to your monitor. I would check the following; 1. Check the cable that your use to connect the monitor to the computer. (if possible change the video cable to another one) 2. Check the monitor on another computer if it is working. 3. Check if your computer is working with some other monitor.

Sound like you don't get a video signal from your computer to your monitor.
