William, yes it is possible to stripe two hard drives together and create one big C drive. To do that you have to have a reasonably new motherboard that will support the new SATA or SATA2 hard drives.
Note that the hard drives have to be the size or at least same partitions size.
If for example you have a hard drive that has read/write speed of 10MB/sec, two striped hard drives together will have read/write speed of 20MB/sec
